time, or: the rhythm of the sun

The photo is one of those moments when time and place fit, when you arrive in the right spot without knowing it, and sitting there the sun sinks just in that place beyond the palm tree.

Time, it also is basically a function of the sun – the way our days fill with light each morning, in an 24-hour-rhythm.

Time, it also gives things a start and an end. Like this island time: Tomorrow this time, I am on the plane back home, and the little blue monitors will keep informing everyone about the relativity of time, about the local time and the time at destination, and about the distance that is still waiting.

inspired by the weekly photo challenge “Time”:

to add color to my sunset sky

for sky friday – the sky view that brightened up the last couple of days, which i had to spend in hospital. still so glad that i had a room with such a view. (more about those days, here: this translucent state of fear and hope & to still trust life.)

and a quote: “Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”
― Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds

dialogue of 2 roads

“Photos, just like people, can communicate with each other” – that’s the theme of the current wordpress Dialogue of photos. the task is: “for this week’s challenge, bring together two of your photos into dialogue. What do they say to each other?”

it’s a curious & inspiring theme, it’s just a bit sad that the stream of images mostly only shows the first image: and here’s the collected dialogue photo stream – yet that brought the idea for my take on dialogue: 2 moments from 2 very different roads, crossing in this imaginary scene.
