Sometimes the skies seem to be moonless for days and weeks, especially in winter. but this week, the moon showed almost every evening – and each time, it was different, and beautiful.
The first moment is from Wednesday evening, with the moon growing towards a circle, and this pastel touch in the air.
And here is yesterday’s moon – it actually had a halo for a while. It was pretty amazing to see this; and later I learned that it was the first time since 1977 that there is a full moon at christmas, which made it extra special, even though it is blurry:
I knew that the photo wouldn’t really work, but at least it captured the moment, and connects to the new photo challenge “Now”, and its invite to notice your present, and share a photo of it.
The “Now” task also connects to the upcoming Joyful January, here’s more about it: 31 Days of Joy – making january more joyful.
And the moon of course connects to skywatch friday, where some other moon moments are online.
Full moon at Xmas! Fabulous! Greetings from around the world, Dorothee…
Thanks Michelle! Yes, Full moon at Xmas, it felt like a night highlight. greetings to you, too ~~
Apparently we won’t see another full moon at Christmas for 25 years.
