Rule of Thirds

the current weekly photo challenge has an interesting theme: “Rule of Thirds” – the task: “Compose your subject off-center, obeying the Rule of Thirds, a photography concept that puts the subject of the photograph off-center.”

It made me remember the off-center photo I once took of a fountain at sunset time. and made me curious for playing more with this concept, and to see the photos others are posting.

here’s the stream of “Rule of Thirds” photos + the call: Rule of Thirds

and a quote about photography:

“All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.”
