plan/t (Brussles, day 18)

in the middle of Brussles:
geometric lines formed by trees
all trunks once painted white
to an exact point (in an act of art? or protection?)

rebellion, in this place:
to grow at an angle;
to scatter leaves

  1. it’s the same here in China, I assumed that the trees were painted to mark them out as suitable for uprooting & replanting in the cities… where no tree is unplanned…

  2. and a wordplay note: in German “Brussels” is caleld “Brüssel” – which includes: “Rüssel” – which translates back to elephant trunk, and in English also to tree trunk, which again is “Stamm” in German. all those word chains..
