s/now (Col de l’Iseran, day 13)

curve and curve and curve
with each, the horizon opens a step more
while rain turns to snow, and trees end

a sole road leads up to this place
that is all about crossing
from here
to there

this place – the Col de l’Iseran – is the highest paved mountain pass in the Alps, with an elevation of 2770 metres. it’s only open in summer – the photo is from September.
