atmo/sphere (Crete, day 8)

one of those unplanned cases
of lucky timing:
the full moon rising over the bay of Agios Nikolaos
while the sun still is setting
just during the time
we stayed there

or, on a more universal scale:
the atmosphere that developed around the earth
and the water that pooled to oceans
all in the fine ratio and timing
which enables the breath of life,
and all that comes with it
once in a blue moon

(after yesterday’s move back in time to geographical formations in vul/canoes, the image today leads even further back. and i just looked them up: both the words “atmo” and “sphere” are indeed derived from ancient Greek:  “atmo” is vapor, air, respiration, and “sphere” refers to “sphaira” – a globe or ball.)
