you have to walk (millenium bridge, London)

the first time i was in London, it didn’t yet exist: Millenium Bridge, which now leads in an easy straight line from St. Paul’s Cathedral to Tate Modern, and turns into a futuristic walkway at dusk.

a memory that comes up with it: the line from a friend who lived in London at that time, and whose response to my underground-tickets was: “The places you want to see, they aren’t really far, and really, you have to walk to get a sense of this city.”

so i walked.
